Namo Buddhaya!

Early morning on 16 May 2020 a special religous ceremony for placing the pinnacle of the Sri Angulimala Stupa took place at the Bowatte Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery with the participation of Most Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero and the Maha Sangha.

By placing the 12ft tall majestic pinnacle (Koth Wahanse), The Great Angulimala Stupa was honored by the Maha Sangha & lay devotees. In addition 36 pinnacles were placed on the roofs of the 4 frontispieces (Vahalkada) that flanks the great Stupa from each of the four directions, with 9 pinnacles on each frontispiece!

Thus, a total of 37 pinnacles were placed respectfully honoring the 37 Enlightenment Factors taught by the Supreme Buddha.

The Sacred pinnacle accentuated the dignity and the magnificennce of the great stupa, and was indeed a sight to behold!

May all rejoice in the powerful merit of this Pinnacle offering ceremony with pleasant hearts towards the Supreme Buddha and Great Arahants.

By the power of these merit may all who contributed toward this meritorious endeavor realize the Four Noble Truths in this Gotama Buddha’s Dispensation!
