The Most Venerable Ajahn Sumedho Maha Thero, one of the most senior Western monk of the Thai forest tradition of Theravada Buddhism, was ordained in Thailand and is a senior student of the Most Venerable Ajahn Chah Maha Thero. Ajahn Sumedho was the Abbot of Amaravathi Buddhist Monastery in the United Kingdom from its consecration in 1984 until his retirement in 2010.

In conjunction with his visit to Sri Lanka, the reputed Meditation Guru and author of the popular book “The Sound of Silence” and many other world renowned books on meditation, Most Venerable Ajahn Sumedho will be conducting a special Dhamma sermon and Dhamma discussion at Mahamewnawa Bodhignana Meditation Monastery in Kaduwela on 12th December 2017 from 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM.
